OPH is an incredible organization. They helped steer me to a dog that is perfect for my family -- and steered me away from ones that wouldn't have been a good fit, even though those dogs really needed a home too. OPH volunteers care about the long term welfare of the dogs they rescue. And with that in mind, they have excellent resources online that I accessed to learn how to make the transition optimal, and then offered free training that was so helpful to me. When we had questions about how to handle a new behavior, we were able to very quickly get advice from an excellent trainer. We now have a great dog that is absolutely perfect for my family, and we're confident in how to keep her happy and well behaved so we can all enjoy living together. I would recommend OPH to anyone who is interested in adopting a rescue dog. I was impressed with every professional and volunteer I met at OPH.

My entire family loves volunteering for 4 Paws. It is so rewarding to know we are helping to train puppies that will one day help someone make it through the day. It is enjoyable to show up and help socialize and start the training for puppies as early as 4 weeks old. The employees really care about the pups as well as the people they are being trained to help. Great organization!

We adopted Rusty aka Bruce B a month ago. The process was smooth and everyone was so pleasant and helpful. It was clear that they were working to ensure that the dog, Rusty, would have a good, forever home. Suzanne kept us informed through each step in the process, including what we could expect adopting a puppy. We had interest in four dogs (through Pet Finder) that were all at Lost Paws. We met them all on Saturday at a Petsmart. The volunteers were patient and helpful, giving us plenty of time with each dog as we made a decision. The president of the org was friendly and provided good insights on each pup. We ended up adopting Blaze (later renamed Hank) because he immediately got along with our other dog. (She had an important vote in the new addition!) The paperwork process was easy and we are happily one month in with this silly boy! :)

A stray kitten that found its way into my porch had an injured eye, I took it to the emergency vets where they told me he would need surgery to have it removed and the cost for that was anywhere between $1200-$1700. I called numerous shelters, rescues and any program I could find that assisted with situations like that and wasn't getting anywhere until I was given Ginas information at 4Paws1Heart. They approved paying for the kittens eye surgery and even worked with me to have the surgery done at my vets office. Ultimately the surgery wasn't needed, but 4Paws1Heart paid for the kittens care related to his eye injury (meds, follow up appointment, etc) as well as his vaccinations. Very thankful for Gina and all that she does. She was great to work with!

I had been having a lot of issues with local to me rescues as I’m young, a first time adopter, work in an office, and live in an apartment with obviously no fenced in yard. Muddy Paws, while not local, was amazing and their dogs bios were so incredibly helpful in finding the perfect dog for me and they don’t discriminate against those of us who have in office jobs and don’t own a home. They are responsive, passionate, and so so helpful for anything you might need or any questions. I highly recommend adopting through them and if I was local I’d definitely foster. My Ethan is perfect for me and just the missing piece of my life.

An excellent organization to learn and grow with. I joined as an intern and had the privilege of learning directly from Dr. Nilesh Bhanage, whose leadership and dedication to animal welfare are truly inspiring. The NGO has one of the highest on-ground impacts in the Thane district, making a tangible difference through rescue, rehabilitation, and community awareness initiatives.

I would give them a zero if I could. I filled out the application. Then signed up for a discovery meeting. They sent me an email confirming the date/time for meeting and instructions to download “GOTO” a special app where we were supposed to have the discovery meeting. I downloaded the special app they required for the meeting and showed up to the meeting at the meeting code they gave at the day and time agreed upon on only to be disappointed that Paws4people never showed up!! At 11:02 (2 mins after the meeting was supposed to start) I started calling and emailing them attempting to find out where they were and I could never get a call back,,, just an email from someone at 11:20 am telling me to sign up *again for a different meeting and time!!!! I was so upset because they clearly didn’t respect me or my time, nor the meeting that was agreed upon where I showed up but they didn’t. Very disrespect and unorganized agency. Rude.

Hello! We first met Jim & Brenda Scamordella, the owners/operators of PAWS for Seniors at a Tractor Supply store in Warrenton Virginia many years ago. They were having an adoption event for some of their animals. We fell in love with a precious little Papillon named Stinky. They are very caring, knowledgeable, responsible friendly people. We ended up adopting Stinky from them. And a few more throughout the years. We have also learned alot as volunteers and fosters for them. The animals are well cared for in clean neat areas. Upon intake they are always vetted and as much history as possible is found on the animals. They are always spayed/neuterd, microchipped and up to date on their vaccines. Their animals are always sweet and happy to be with them. We can say we have not seen a better organized and operated rescue in our lives. You will never be disappointed when adopting from them. An outstanding organization with outstanding people operating it. Kudos PAWS for Seniors!!!! Animals lives matter!!!!

We had a fantastic experience with Friends with Four Paws. We adopted our dachshund mix Frankie in April 2024. It was our first experience adopting so we weren’t sure what to expect, but we could tell that they had the best interest of the dogs at heart as the interview process began. They checked in afterwards to make sure we were all adjusting ok and it was overall such a positive experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt.

Paws & Think is a great organization! They have so many great programs and go to so many different locations like schools, libraries, hospitals, nursings homes and so many more! I also love the youth canine program that I have volunteered with. They pair at risk youth with dogs from local shelters. The youth train the pups and learn responsibility and the pups get great training that makes them more adoptable in the community! Paws & Think is a wonderful non-profit that everyone who loves dogs would very much enjoy to be apart of!

Four Paws International is a group of highly dedicated individual with the mission to rescue neglected, abused, exploited animals. They educate the owners of facilities where our fellow animals are being mistreated, housed in unsuitable conditions to their species, and notify authorities whenever necessary. I support Four Paw and only donate to charities that pass ethical and values tests. Knowing this organization takes action when others do not, or will not, helps me sleep better at night.

Our relationship with PAWS of Dale Hollow goes back to 2006 when we adopted our wonderful Border Collie mix, Tipper. I found PAWS by chance through a Google search and am so happy I did! <br><br>When my sweet dog passed many years later, my husband and I turned to PAWS once again. We knew we wanted to adopt another great dog in need of a good home. Cathy Crocket, the president of PAWS, helped us choose a delightful puppy. <br><br>Aside from being compassionate and kind, PAWS of Dale Hollow takes good care of the pups in their care and in fosters. Their assessment of doggy personalities is spot on, which is important when adopting, particularly to homes with children or other pets. They are honest, ethical, and just amazing at what they do; place wonderful dogs in wonderful homes. <br><br>I used the word, 'relationship', when writing this review. When adopting a dog from PAWS of Dale Hollow, you have the opportunity to build a relationship with Cathy, the president, fosters, and other adopters. 2017 We got a Cat from one of your rescue.crews at the Pet Co In Madison Heights. He is doing Great! Now we have Donated $100.00 in Memory of an Animal Lover who has brought in a lot of rescue Kitties and her name is Pamela Hoffman she just passed away! Our interaction with getting our Phoenix Alan the Cat went well back than. He is a good healthy cat!

I have been a member of Paws For Friendship Inc. since 2013. The director, along with the members share their pets, spreading love and comfort wherever they go. Paws Celebrated 31 years in 2024 and is the best there is. I cannot stress enough how wonderful Paws is and encourage those with pets to consider becoming a member, no special training is needed. My 20-year-old daughter, Ruby, is blind and has cognitive disabilities that make many daily tasks challenging. In my search to help her live as independently as possible, 7 years ago, I began exploring the idea of a service dog. But time and again, I was told that because Ruby couldn’t care for a dog independently, a partnership wouldn’t be possible.<br><br>That changed when I met Hero, one of the incredible school resource dogs trained by PawPADs. After seeing how Hero supported students, I reached out to PawPADs to see if they might consider a handler team model where Ruby and I would work together. Unlike other organizations, Linda didn’t shut the door. She took the time to understand Ruby, our unique needs, and whether a dog could truly enhance her life.<br><br>PawPADs doesn’t place dogs to meet quotas—they are deeply committed to finding the right match. Linda was honest with us from the start: there was no guarantee a dog would be placed, and she encouraged us to keep exploring other options while we waited.<br><br>In June 2020, we got the call—Ruby was invited to Partner Training Camp. We were thrilled, though prepared that a match might not happen. But during the first couple days of camp, it quickly became clear that one dog, Charlie, was attuned to Ruby in a way that felt magical. They were a perfect match.<br><br>Since then, Charlie has been Ruby’s constant companion and quiet protector--picking up dropped items, comforting her during difficult moments, and navigating life by her side. He understands her in ways no one else can. He’s changed her life, and our whole family's.<br><br>Because of the impact PawPADs has had on our family, I joined the board in 2020. I’ve seen firsthand the love, care, and integrity this organization brings to every partnership, not only for the people they serve, but also for the incredible dogs they place.<br><br>What sets PawPADs apart is their commitment to doing what’s right. They prioritize the wellbeing of the dogs, honor the uniqueness of every client, and build partnerships that truly last.

I have had dogs my entire life. My last dog was through a breeder and we absolutely loved him. When he passed away we decided to get a rescue dog and we applied to Sandy Paws. I have never met a more rude and disrespectful organization. Their decision making is abrupt and unprofessional. When I asked questions I was bombarded with emails harassing me for my feedback. I finally had to block them. If you’re looking for a pet, be wary of this organization.

My Angel with Paws was just fantastic. In 2019 I was introduced to them through a fellow co-worker who had received their Service Animal through them. I meet with them and could not have been more impressed with their staff. Upon meeting with our Service animal, I immediately knew he was the one for me as he immediately took to me as if he had known me his entire life. He sat at my feet and laid his head in my lap giving me the peace of mind I was looking for. After having several meetings and a few visits to our home I had my new best friend. I cannot thank them enough; it is a shame that they were forced to close their doors when Covid hit. I can only hope that one day they will reopen and continue to provide the much-needed services they provided to others.

I thought this nonprofit organization was pretty amazing, but I was quite surprised to find out that one animal rescuer is paid $124,000 plus $27,000, and another animal rescuer is paid $101,000 plus $19,000. It’s is a nonprofit!!! These are animal rescuers. And, these figures are from 2022. How? Why? The leader’s salary is a decent amount higher. How many hours a week do they spend rescuing animals that warrants those salaries? I find this baffling. If the animal rescuers get paid six figures, maybe donate to smaller rescue organizations that scrape by, and have rescuers make very little, if anything. Rescues that don’t pay their rescuers six figures. I really hope I’m missing something, but when looking at many animal rescues that are nonprofit, people tend to pay themselves handsomely.

i have followed all the wonderful journey's Amanda and her family (s) have been on-- there are no words for all the work and love and effort that is put into each and every obligation she takes on from pets to human's and helping others.<br>She is so amazing with her knowledge, her ability to share her journey's with us in such great writings and videos, and her true, genuine selfless love she gives.<br>There are not many on this earth that can endure what she does to keep all her charges needs first and foremost-- thank you for all u do for so many<br>

Over the last decade I have adopted multiple wonderful dogs and an amazing cat from 4 Paws. Every time I have interacted with the organization as an adopter I have experienced a team of caring individuals who have supported us through the process and there after. I have also volunteered with the organization and see the time and dedication every animal receives from transport to foster all the way through adoption. I will forever be greatful for the lives, both human and animal, that I have crossed with thanks to this rescue!

This group of individuals works tirelessly to help feral animals in our community and individuals that are trying to help animals that have been abandoned. I can't really explain how big their hearts are. Thank you for all you do Street Paws!

14 yr old Rico (Golden Retriever) came to me by way of Toby Wisneski of Leave No Paws Behind. Sadly Rico's owner had tragically perished in a house fire leaving poor Rico orphaned. Toby found out that Rico could possibly end up in a shelter so she and Leave No Paws Behind took action to rescue poor Rico and to see what they could do to find someone to open their home and heart to allow Rico to live out his senior years in peace, love, and comfort. I had just lost my 13yr old boxer and 12yr old lab within 3 months of each other and needless to say I was heartbroken. Then one month later Rico came into my life and I his. We both worked on mending our broken hearts together. Rico did indeed find his forever home where he is living his life in peace, love, and comfort. I've had Rico now for 6 months and what a blessing he has been. I can't thank Toby and Leave No Paws behind enough for entrusting me with the care of Rico and all the follow up care and routine check ups to ensure Rico remains happy and healthy for the rest his life ❤❤❤

We gad a great experience with DC Paws, first as fosters and then eventually as adopters. They have a clear process for vetting both their fosters and adoptees. I would definitely recommend them for folks interested in either roles.
